Where Devout Catholics Meet

"Act and God will act" - Saint Joan of Arc

I joined Ave Maria in 2003, after 6 years and one failed relationship with a woman I met on Ave Maria I started to give up hope that I would find a strong Catholic woman and be blessed with the sacrament of marriage.  As soon as I had given up hope of meeting someone on Ave Maria, my wife Claudia contacted me.  At the time she contacted me I was reluctant to even attempt to pursue a relationship and the fact that she resided in Colombia spurred me to reply in a manner that showed her I really was not interested.  Six-seven months later things started to get better in my life and I believe God prompted me to contact Claudia via Ave Maria.  As expected she was not real receptive considering my previous lukewarm response.  By the grace of God we started communicating on a regular basis in October 2008 and in November we started to Skype.  Within a week after our first Skype session I bought a ticket to fly down to Colombia.  Needless to say my family was concerned about me flying off to South America to meet a woman I met on-line, I responded with, “nothing ventured nothing gained” I was willing to take the risk.  On 26 Dec 2008, I flew to Medellin, Colombia, and the moment I met Claudia I knew she was the one I was going to marry.  The next five months we spent navigating the maze of USCIS for a fiancée visa and I continued to fly to Colombia on four separate occasions to visit her.  In June 2009, her visa application was approved and on 14 August 2009 we married at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaufort, South Carolina.  God has richly blessed us with two children, our daughter Rebekah who is 3 and our son Joseph who is 5 months old.  If someone would have told me ten years ago that I would marry a woman from Colombia I would have never believed them.  Claudia and I are very thankful for Ave Maria, if it was not for this ministry I know we would not have met.  May God continue to bless this ministry with many sacramental Catholic marriages.

Just wanted to let Anthony and everyone else there at Ave Maria Singles know that we can be counted as a success story.  After meeting in February 2011, we were engaged in October 2013 and married on the feast of St. Mark April 25, 2014 at Ss Cyril and Methodius Church in Sterling Heights Michigan.  Mark is from Connecticut and I grew up here in Michigan.  We have settled in Michigan and want to send a special thank you to Anthony for his hard work and dedication to single Catholics.  Without his efforts we would never have met, and our success exceeded our expectations.  No single Catholic on this network should ever give up.

My husband Mike and I met on AMS in July 2011, got engaged in November 2012, recently married in July 2014, and are expecting our first child in April 2015! We are so grateful to AMS for being a tool to bring us together!

Although they were both AveMariaSingles members for several years, they didn't meet on the AMS website but through the Ave Maria Trips cruises.

Angie and John met for the first time on the AveMariaSingles cruise in 2012. They met again on the 2013 AveMariaSingles cruise and things flew from there. They got engaged in August 2013 and were married the following year in May. They went to Rome during their honeymoon and had the opportunity to shake hands with Pope Francis at the Sposi Novelli event. They are now expecting their first baby to be born in February 28, 2015.

In December 2011, I wrote a short email to Bob in NJ who was a member for over 10 years. He did not write back until February 2012 since he was not sure about girl from CA. Before he wrote, I was going to give up actively looking for someone and was going to give up the whole online thing starting with Lent. He wrote back right before Ash Wednesday! We wrote, called, and Skyped for 5 months, and during that time we both prayed A LOT to discern what God's Will was (we even prayed together on Skype). He then payed for me to visit for a week (all on the up-and-up). Even on the first day of meeting, we sort of knew we'd end up getting married one day. On the last day of the visit, we were engaged! Five months after that I moved from CA to NJ (again, all on the up-and-up) and we ended up getting married 7 months later in 2013. It was a bit of a whirlwind, but our temperaments and personalities compliment each other in ways I never thought possible! I would say we're even happier than the day we married (we also keep up on our prayers!). Oh, and as 2016, baby #3 is already on the way (yes, even the babies are coming in like whirlwinds!).

I met Marina online in July, 2016. I was a widower and she had been married several years ago and had her marriage annulled. When I first viewed her profile I was attracted to her dedication to our Lord and the manner in which she expressed her faith. However, my first thoughts were, Bogata, Colombia -- too far." I looked at several other profiles but always came back to hers. God knows my heart and I express this in all truth: when I saw Marina's photo and read her profile I knew she was going to be my wife. I sent her a message and we began chatting. Our chats eventually evolved into a first phone contact (and I started to purchase phone cards to call her). The most IMPORTANT thing in our talks was that we always began with a prayer asking God to be the center of our conversations. Marina has a very strong devotion to Our Blessed Mother and I am a Secular Discalced Carmelite. Our relationship just blossomed. Then, one Sunday in late August it became obvious that we began having feelings for each other but had never met in person. I'm 64 and Marina is 61. We knew how we felt!. Soon thereafter, despite never actually seeing each other, I sent Marina a text telling her I could feel myself falling in love with her. She expressed the same sentiment and we left everything in Our Lords hands. Great and wonderful is our God because our love deepened. I made plans to visit Marina in late January 2017. I had never been to Colombia. We had already decided we wanted to get married (but still had never met face to face). In fact, we had already set a date of May 11, 2017 to get married in Alhambra, CA at St. Therese Parish. When I went to Colombia, the very first day I met with Marina, we attended an engagement encounter. It was at the encounter (two days) that I proposed to her in front of a statue of our Lady. I returned to the U.S. while Marina remained in Colombia. Meanwhile, the enemy tried to impose his will on our plans. Marina suffered several health problems, and I was diagnosed with a benign tumor. I returned to Colombia in late April 2017 and we had a wonderful pre-wedding reception with her family. Marina's health improved and my tumor has been followed closely by a specialist. I'm doing fine. We got married on May 11, 2017 and wake up each day giving thanks to God and knowing that our love for each other and trust in God makes all things possible. Blessed be His name forever. Our Lady has taken us under her mantle and we are hers.

I'm Ana from Guatemala and Dan is from Cape Cod, we met on AMS. Dan came to visit me. We fell in love immediately. Was a gift from God, and Virgin Mary. We got married two years later in Antigua Guatemala. We have two beautiful daughters. Was a blessing that we found each other, is a miracle that two people from different countries could have the same faith and beliefs.

Do you still have cruises. I went on one a several years ago. Since then I met a wonderful Catholic man. Being 65, I never thought it would be possible. But I hit the jackpot. He loves Bible study, too. I thought he would love to go on a cruise with Ave Maria. Thank you!!

Dear all at AMS:

I want to share another success story with you all. Isabel Torres and I (Juan Jaramillo) met, through your website, in August of 2016. And we started dating.
AND we got married on June 13, the Feast of St Anthony, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Paducah KY.
I prayed initially to St Anthony, on July 2016, after 12 years of being single (after a divorce and an annulment). I then looked at a couple of different dating websites, without any success. I finally looked into AMS. And I found Isabel the first day I started looking. Literally. I wrote to her that first day, she replied, and now we are happily married. Both our families are thrilled.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I never thought I could be this happy again. God bless you all.

I was a member of Ave Maria Singles for four years when January "dropped her hanky" in July 2012. After several messages and phone calls, we met at the Baltimore Basilica for our first date on September 2, 2012. After three dates, we became an exclusive couple and managed to see each other nearly every weekend although I live in Philadelphia and she in Baltimore. Our relationship became very strong during 2012-13 during an 18-month period in which I was either a contractor or unemployed. I was finally able to secure full time employment in May 2013. Three months later, on August 24, 2013, I proposed to January at the Baltimore Basilica and we celebrated in St. Michael's MD on the Chesapeake Bay. January's job, however, was slated to end in a few months. She found a job in northern New Jersey and was able to transfer her work visa. January travelled every weekend from Baltimore or Newark NJ to Philadelphia for our wedding planning. We had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception in the Philadelphia area on September 19, 2014 and an amazing eleven day honeymoon in Kauai. Two months after our wedding, there was another pleasant surprise. January was pregnant with our first child. Our daughter Bridget Claire was born on July 12, 2015.

For a number of years, I had wasted time and money on different dating services and so-called "Catholic" ones as well. Thanks to this service and its Latin American extension, I was blessed to encounter my special someone from Guadalajara, Mexico. After a few months of writing and speaking by phone, I visited her and her family. After a number of outings, it became clear that we were a great match. Just as importantly, we both cherished the same religious values and practices. We got engaged and had a beautiful wedding in Mexico, We have lived happily ever after in Texas.

Ave Maria Singles has now entered a whole new era of what seems a long existence. It has just produced its first vocation! Our daughter, Sr. Catherine, entered the Carmel of Jesus, Mary and Joseph on September 12, the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary.

I first wrote to Ryan last October. When he wrote back we started corresponding daily until we ended up texting for hours. When Ryan got back from his Christmas trip, we discussed a relationship and decided to officially be a couple. Ryan proposed on June 27 and our wedding is scheduled for this March 2019. Praise God!
