Common Questions
Accommodations
The group is staying at a hotel in Rome that is not yet announced.
The exact hotel has not yet been established. Once we get that information,
it will be presented to you for your information.
What
To Bring
Warm clothes - Remember that it will be the ending of winter
in Europe, so consider appropriate clothing for cooler weather.
Money - There will be plenty of shops for buying souvenirs
and gifts, as well as food and drink. And remember that you will
need Euros while in Italy, so consider the exchange rate. To find
a Euro exchange rate calendar, go to www.google.com
and type in "Euro to US exchange rates" and you will get
all kinds of good stuff.
Additional
Expenses to Consider
Additional costs will vary for each person. It all depends on what
you do. You might not know that until you get there. So the following
are possible additional expenses that will help you get an idea
of how much to bring. Keep in mind that you will be able to use
U.S. currency, Travelers Checks and credit cards. If you use their
ATM machines, you will get Euros out of the machine. It would be
wise to consider bringing cash to have with you, or use your credit
card.
Airfare and Travel - $850 average
Everyone is responsible for booking their own airfare and getting
to Rome on February 18, which means you need to book a flight leaving
Friday, February 17. We are putting together a group flight out
of Philadelphia, PA on February 17, which is priced at $850 (may
vary depending on when booked). We are also setting up a group
rate for the Ramanda Inn hotel the night before (February 16) for
those interested in arriving the night before and getting together
as a group before the trip. You can book this at the time you register
or some time later.
Food and Drinks
No food or drinks are included on this trip. You should consider
around 50 euro per day.
Group
Activities
We have provided an interesting itinerary
for our group. Click
here to read the detailed itinerary for each day.
Non-Group Activities
If you want to move about the area to sightsee, or go to shops or
restaurants, etc., you are free to do so at your own risk. We recognize
that smaller groups may form and desires to see other things not
in our itinerary may arise. We encourage this but cannot be responsible
for anything happening outside our set plans. Please make these
arrangements outside of Ave Maria Singles and between each other
in the group.
